Scoutbook will be unavailable for maintenance from 10 AM, CT, on Friday, December 28, through Monday, December 31. A maintenance page will display while system work is done. Units that must enter completed rank advancements will have Internet Advancement available.
The Scoutbook database will undergo a transformation to include current, active BSA registrants and advancement information for those who are not currently in Scoutbook. This is essential to launching Scoutbook on January 1, 2019, as a free platform for all units.
Scoutbook has implemented a Single Sign On (SSO) process that will allow users to easily create accounts with the same properties as my.scouting accounts. This will use the same account credentials (username and password) for both platforms. The value to users is significant and will streamline access. For details, please click the FAQ Link for the Frequently Asked Questions with a step-by-step guide for use of SSO. Persons with my.scouting accounts may login with their username and password.
Am I the only one with this problem???
Arthur Donchey
I am pretty sure my.scouting.org was not changed, your old credentials there should work as long as you were not activated for SSO and changed your password or something like that.
If you cannot login to scoutbook with either your old scoutbook credentials or your my.Scouting credentials, wait a couple of hours they are running another script in Scoutbook.
"You are not setup yet for the BSA Single-Sign-On (SSO) so your use of Scoutbook is limited. All users who have not setup SSO by Feb 1st, 2019 will no longer be able to use Scoutbook. Setup is easy. Just go to your Scoutbook My Account page and click on the link Setup SSO. You have 43 days remaining."
When you follow the steps that are outlined above and reach the "Setup SSO" link, you then receive the following message:
"Please enter your BSA Member number on the Edit Profile page first."
How do we resolve this issue for parents that do not have BSA Member IDs currently? Even adult partners for Tigers and Lions only require one parent or guardian to be registered and thus one BSA member ID is issued. For all members of the family to continue to stay up to date and be able to check the Pack calendar, they will need access. I read through your FAQ and it does not cover this situation.
BSA IT is working overnight on a solution. Should have something tomorrow.
Please pass on to the IT leadership that parents who are not registered leaders are getting frustrated with all these incomplete changes to BSA systems. One of the parents of a Scout who is dropping out this year told me that she felt we are making it too complicated for parents to have their children in Scouts. That kind of attitude does not bode well for the future of Scouting.
Please make sure your new systems actually work for all users before you take them live.
Yes at this time you will still need to login separately to my.Scouting; using the same credentials. Eventually we will have links in Scoutbook leading you to myScouting tools.
Thank you, it looks like an oversight. I have reported it to development.
Does anyone know of a good work around for this issue with individual Scout accounts??
The development team is aware of issues with youth < 13 and actively working them. For now just hang tight.
The issue is because as you discovered myst does not allow accounts for youth <13 and SB does because the parent controls the creation of it. They are working the issue and know how they will fix it.

Development is running something tonight that may help you. Please wait until the morning and see if your issue is corrected.
Resetting your password often clears up any issues.
If folks are having issues logging in, I would suggest waiting until Wed. If you still are having issues at that time, please contact Member Care at scoutbook.support@scouting.org Starting Wed 12/26 you can also call at 972-580-2489 between 7 am – 7 pm CT, Monday - Friday.
Also is it possible to get a copy of the test plan you are using for the EOY changes, so we can test also, and report any issues found from the actual usuer end. An issue we are seeing alot is that users can use the SSO from IOS, any idea when that will be fixed?
Doing a 'forgot password' at the login screen normally clears up login issues
If folks are still having issues logging in after trying that, please contact Member Care at scoutbook.support@scouting.org you can also call at 972-580-2489 between 7 am – 7 pm CT, Monday - Friday.
We have reported it.

If they created my.scouting.org accounts yes. Usually have never logged on there, so the answer for them would be no.
