Scoutbook will be free starting January 1, 2019 BSA updated press release and FAQs
Since the original Scoutbook announcement made at Top Hands on August 31, 2018—the BSA has received several questions and engaged in conversations— The Frequently Asked Questions have been updated. They include where you can get more information if interested.
The updated FAQs for Scoutbook (updated September 21, 2018) has been posted on the IT Roadmap page http://itroadmap.scouting.org/ and is available at this direct link.
------------------------------------------------------------------
A New Incomplete Merit Badge Report
A new Incomplete Merit Badges Report has been added to Scoutbook. It is available on your Unit, Patrol, and Scout Reports menus to anyone with at least a View Advancement Connection to the Scouts. A sort is available by Merit Badge, Requirements or Scout name. Available filter selections are all or individual Scouts, merit badges, and patrols. Requirements marked as completed by the Scout and still needing leader approval are indicated. The report is displayed on-screen and can be saved to PDF or CSV. If you have questions about the report, please post them on the forums: https://www.scoutbook.com/mobile/forums/
------------------------------------------------------------------
Support of Scout Strong - PALA
------------------------------------------------------------------
Scoutbook now supports recording the completion of the Scout Strong - PALA awards. One award can be recorded for each program level (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing and when released, Sea Scouts). Tracking of partials for Scout Strong - PALA awards is not supported.
------------------------------------------------------------------
YPT Updates
------------------------------------------------------------------
In February 2018 the BSA released a new Youth Protection Training (YPT) course and retired the Youth Protection Training courses Y02 and Y03. All registered leaders are required to take the new YPT course prior to October 1, 2018.
Y02 and Y03 have been removed from the drop-down list of available courses that can be selected. Y01 completed prior to February 1, 2018 and all existing Y02 and Y03 trainings have been set to expire on September 30, 2018 per BSA policy. Venturing leaders will show TRAINED if they have unexpired Y02 or took the new Y01 after February 1, 2018. As of September 30, 2018, only unexpired Y01 will be valid to be a trained leader.

Large Council Names Overflows on Pocket Certificates
------------------------------------------------------------------
An issue where councils with long names, such as Connecticut Yankee Council and Greater St. Louis Area Council, would overflow when printing pocket certificates has been fixed. First, the word Council has been dropped from long names when printing on pocket certificates. If the Council name is still too long, a smaller font is used.
For example, on the Council line of a Merit Badge Pocket Certificate, Connecticut Yankee Council will now print as simply Connecticut Yankee while Northern Star Council will print as Northern Star Council.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Phantom Units
------------------------------------------------------------------
An issue that caused units a leader is no longer connected with to remain on the desktop has been corrected. You should now only see units to which you have an active connection either via a position or connection to a Scout on your desktop. A log off/on may be required to refresh your unit list.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Added Venturing Awards
------------------------------------------------------------------
The following Venturing Awards are now supported by Scoutbook
Nova: Launch!
Nova: Power Up
Nova: Hang On!
Nova: Numbers Don't Lie
Dr. Sally Ride Supernova Award
Wright Brothers Supernova Award
Dr. Albert Einstein Supernova Award
Shooting Sports Outstanding Achievement Award

World Conservation Award
------------------------------------------------------------------
MBC Upload
------------------------------------------------------------------
The Manage Approved Merit Badge Counselor List function for Council Admins has been restored. Please download the latest version of the Excel file to convert Merit Badge Counselor List from ScoutNET before creating your upload list. The file can be found on the Manage Approved Merit Badge Counselor List page.
If you encounter issues uploading or processing your Merit Badge Counselor List please send an e-mail to scoutbook.support@scouting.org with a description of your issue, your council name and number.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Add Lion Adventure Loops to PO
------------------------------------------------------------------
An issue that prevented Lion Adventure Loops from appearing in the Needs Purchasing Report, Purchase Order and Advancement Report has been corrected. Lion Adventure Loops will now appear on these reports, similar to the way the other rank Adventure Loops appear.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Boys' Life Selector Missing from Female Profiles (Edit Profile)
------------------------------------------------------------------
An issue that prevented the Boys' Life selector from appearing on female Scout profile pages has been corrected. The Boys' Life selector is now available for all Scouts.
------------------------------------------------------------------
International Spirit Award (Account, Award, QE, Purchase Order)
------------------------------------------------------------------
Scoutbook now supports the International Spirit Award (ISA) for all programs. This award can be found on the Scout's Awards page. Requirements to complete other awards are automatically marked complete when the other award is marked complete. This is a one-way link. Marking the requirement complete in the ISA will NOT update the other award.

Also, I second the roadmap for features that are being worked on.
Is there a plan to add Explorers now that Ventures are done?
We have stopped saying the BSA plans to update the calendar this year and now they just plan to update the calendar. I doubt we will see any changes to the calendar in 2018.
Sea Scouts is currently in development. Support for Explorers is planned but we do not have a time frame.
That is profoundly disappointing.
Please let the three key person do this
1) Make sure the parents are connected to their Scout(s) with Full Control permissions.
2) Go to [Scout]'s Membership and put in a Date Ended on the Scout's current membership with your unit.
For more detailed instructions, please see the help guide "04O -- How to Remove Inactive Scouts from your Scoutbook Subscriptions (PDF)" at the following url:

We can help you better if you post in the forums. Are you getting a BSA # does not exist in your unit message? Check to make sure the Scouts are on your roster at Member Manager at my.scouting.org. If they are not, you will need to contact your council registrar. If they are, let us know via the forums and we can go to the next step.
Send an e-mail to my.scouting.org and ask them to convert your son to a "family" account. Include his name, BSA# unit and council. You will be able to track his advancement this way.
Please post your question in the forums. We can support you better from there.
scoutbook.support@scouting.org
Be sure to include as much identifying information as you can (Scout's full name, BSA ID #, unit number, council name, etc.)
If you have further questions, please ask in the Scoutbook forums. They will get better visibility there.

This is on the development backlog. At this time we do not have an estimated release date.
Is there anyplace we can see what is on backlog and when it will come out? Seems alot is on backlog.
The BSA does not make the backlog available or publish schedules other than what is periodically posted on the blog or the IT Roadmap at http://itroadmap.scouting.org/
Need to be able to track adult nights camped and service hours.
this would help, I was once before able to access the Adult Leaders, then Scoutbook did an update, and I cannot access the adults to add
I have been given the 3 key log on.

Please ask your questions or offer suggestions in the forums. They will be answered more quickly there.

National is not forcing anyone to abandon any 3rd party product and use Scoutbook. Units can continue to use a 3rd party tool and upload to Internet Advancement (or it's upgrade which will be called Scoutbook Lite.)
If you would like to send me details of what you would like to see changed in Scoutbook that would also be helpful. Send it to: suacinformation@gmail.com
Send an e-mail to scoutbook.support@scouting.org with the Scout's name, BSA#, unit and council. Ask that his account be placed in your unit and that you be given full control. After you have control of the account you can activate it for sync and add advancement that was recorded on the account you created. There is no way to merge 2 Scoutbook accounts.
Is there a particular rank where you are not seeing it?
