Scoutbook Advancement Record Sync with Internet Advancement Rollout Update

The Scoutbook Advancement Record Sync roll-out has been delayed.  We have run into issues in production (not Scoutbook related) that have impacted the validation of the sync process.  Pilot units have been unable to move forward with their validation; thus delaying the roll-out schedule.  BSA has several teams working to resolve the issues.

We hope to finalize validation with the Pilot units soon so that the roll-out can continue.  We appreciate your patience and continued support!

@Jacquie - the dev team has confirmed the error with updating profiles and the validation with matching the name and BSA#. A fix will be in place soon. Thanks for letting us know!

@jacquie. You should now be able to edit the profile without the invalid BSA# popup appearing.

Just crossed over a Weblos to the troop. Will the pack have to delete him from their roll? Not able to update his profile because it says he is in another unit in Scoutbook..

@William - The Pack will be able to transfer the Scout to your Troop. If you contact the Scoutbook admins at the Pack, they will have access to promote him, and then the admin for the Troop will have to "accept" the scout. It is a couple step process, but fairly easy when you are in the right screen.

William, there are detailed instructions on how to transfer a Scout from a pack to a troop at the following URL:

My scout is connected to the correct troop (274), but also to an incorrect troop (174) as well as to his old Cub Scout pack. How do I get him/myself removed from the other two? Specifically I want to be removed from the old pack so I stop getting their emails. Thanks!

Brandy, go to his page and click (his) Leadership. If there are any positions listed under current positions, click on them and check that they are only for his current unit. If not, add an end date. If that doesn't help, please post in the Using Scoutbook Forum. Your issue will get more visibility there.

Brandy, also look under [Scout's] Connections, and remove any connections to leaders that are no longer necessary (pack, incorrect troop).

If an 11 yr old LDS Scout is 7 weeks shy of being 12 should he be aloud to go to Camp Bartlet with the Troop for a week? Isn't that the LDS church policy no, only 3-one night camp outs.

Tania, you might want to ask your question in the Boy Scouting forum. Lots more people read the posts there.

Can we please get an update on Scoutbook/Internet Advancement? It's been two months since advancement synchronization was announced, but Scoutbook users don't have a clear timeline on when we can expect to use this feature. I still have Arrow of Light scouts in my Cub Scout Pack roster who crossed over in February because I don't want to lose all of their badge/pin records. At this point I don't know if I should continue to wait to sync the Tiger/Wolf/Bear/Webelos achievements that have been recorded in Scoutbook all year long. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Please make a plan and publish it so that we can make our decisions about how to handle recording of advancement.

    David,

You can send all of your data to Internet Advancement today by creating a Purchase Order, going to the bottom and selecting ScoutNET file then uploading that file to Internet Advancement. You do not need to wait for the advancement sync to get data to Internet Advancement. Once the two way sync is enabled, the manual process of uploading to IA will not be needed and anything not already in IA will be uploaded automatically, even Cub Scout records for a Boy Scout. Click on the SUAC logo below my photo to be taken to the SUAC FAQ with instructions on how to upload data to IA.

I would like to have some type of update also on this. We are still evaluating the product and of all the issues with ScoutBook, this is the biggest issue we have. The current product we use (ScoutTrack) has had this ability since I have been an Advancement Chairman 3 years ago. The only time I ever logged into Internet Advancement was when I became the Advancement Chairman to switch the account to me. The Pack I am in is leaving it up to me to decide and I am really on the fence, more leaning towards not switching to ScoutBook.

Would love to use Scoutbook with my Crew. I'm working on supporting multiple crews in my Council with the STEM Awards. Scoutbook would greatly enhance my and their advisors's ability to track such inter-crew activities.
