See Ya Down The Trail

Some of you may know that I retired from BSA at the beginning of August and for the past three months have been serving in a consulting capacity to assure smooth transition and continued support for the plans already in place.  However, the time has come to turn over the keys and get down the trail.

It has been a fantastic ride the past year, thanks to all of the great Scouters out there using Scoutbook and providing daily feedback.  We have not always moved as quickly as I would have liked, but we have, over the past year, moved forward.  As we transition, I'm proud of the work that the development and operations team has accomplished over the past year while passing one millioni connected users!

• Moved Scoutbook to the Cloud, allowing broader support and scaling
• Improved site performance
• Launched the new Cub Scout adventure program and 2016 Boy Scout requirements
• Launched the Lion program
• Introduced the concept of connected councils so council administrators can message SB units and upload approved merit badge counselor lists
• Reduced issues with duplicate unit numbers within council
• Etc.

The team continues to focus on the growth and increased support of Scoutbook.  In short order, Scoutbook advancement will sync with ScoutNet, bugs from the Lion introduction will be fixed, the Cub Scout Shooting Sports Award will be implemented, and the issue with uploading online training records will be addressed.
