Scoutbook is now current with the merit badge requirements as printed in the 2016 Boy Scout Requirements book. You will note that the following merit badges now have 2016 versions. Boys beginning these merit badges after today will default to the 2016 version (requirements updated).

American Business (2a)

American Labor (3)

Archery (options A and B, 5f[3])

Camping (30

Chemistry (1b, 1c, 7b)

Citizenship in the Community (2, 7)

Citizenship in the World (4c)

Cooking (major update)

Emergency Preparedness (2, 3b, 6, 7, 8)

Environmental Science (3e[2],3g)

First Aid (2b)

Lifesaving (major update)

Mining in Society (1a)

Personal Management (2a, 5, 9e)

Photography (major update)

Railroading (5b, 7d)

Skating (1; Ice Skating option 2d)

In the “on deck circle” – updated NOVA Award requirements.

How do you switch the year. In Ranks it is at the top once in a MB you select a year it won't let you change it to 2016.

Doug, you should be able to switch the MB year until you mark one item complete. If a scout starts on one year MB and decides to switch to 2016, you need to clear out all the completions by removing the date and approved check mark.

Frank, make sure everyone you put in the report is working on the same version of the adventure. If you mix versions the report will show data for the version the first scout is working on

It is nice to know you have updated merit badges, however, I have built reports with the old requirements that my troop was working on and now unless I go into individual scouts, I cannot see where they were at with progress. Reading through advancement requirements, the scouts can use original requirements if they had started before the changes. We have started several as a troop and I didn't realize I was not going to be able to view this work. Is there something I can do to print the report with the older requirement?

Debby, the development team is aware of the issues with report builder and multiple versions of requirements. We do not know when or how it will be addressed.

In the meantime, you should be able to export the advancements and work in Excel to see who has completed what. It's not ideal, but it's better than checking each scout individually.

Hello everyone.
I'm just getting started with boy scouts.my son David suffer from ADHD..,Bi - Polar..,Autism,..and has a learning disability.,however ever since he went to his first boy scouts meeting he has come out of his shyness some and really gotten involved.he was elected Librarian of his troop .he has gotten better at communicating with people around him.and I myself have seen a big difference in my son and I owe it all to Linda Myers and her associates in Troop 401. In Maynardville,Tennessee.the boy scouts is a God sent to me and my son David.and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.God Bless you one and all.

This question might have been answered, but I was not able to find anything in my search of the Blog.. My question has to do with program updates, In the Cub Scouts in my Den I have boys that have completed the "2015" version of the advancement or Elective, and newer Cubs that are working on the Same elective in the "2016" verson. My My issue is when I print out the Den Advancement Report it will only show the 2015 so I can't the the boys who are working on or completed Electives in the 2016 version. has anyone found a work around or know if this is going to be updated in scoutbook?

Hello, we are just getting into this program, which BTW is excellent! So glad we are using it now. I am entering a bunch of partial merit badges that I have on my Varsity group that were signed by counselors but are just not complete. Problems I am having is that for each requirement I have to hit the date and approve. It is very cumbersome when I have I don't know, 30 blue cards to enter. Can an update be made that will allow me to check on each requirement that was accomplished on a specific date and then hit enter? This will take me a long time as is.
