Cinematography Gets Renamed to Moviemaking

Effective immediately Cinematography merit badge is now called Moviemaking merit badge.

Along with a name change BSA has made a few adjustments to the requirements as well.  New printed pamphlets will be available soon at your local Scout shops.  In the meantime you can see the new requirements in our References section or search for Moviemaking from our home page.

Start Tracking Moviemaking Now

Scoutbook has just finished updating our web app to reflect the new version of requirements and is ready to go.  If you have Scouts interested in this merit badge you can start tracking their progress on Scoutbook.

Just login to Scoutbook to get started.

    Several of my Scouts earned the Cinematography merit badge but it does not show on Scoutbook.com. I thought maybe it would show moviemaking instead but it doesn't show that either. My son is one of them; Jesse Ross.

    I think the system should show the Cinematography merit badge since the scouts have earned it. If this system is going to be the official one stop-place to track and view advancement... then it should reflect new and old for current scouts.
