We want to thank all those who helped us beta test our family plan features. Those who helped us received a free year subscription!

At just $10/year families can track up to 5 Scouts and share their records with family, leaders and merit badge counselors. Parents can set who can view or edit their son's records.

Shown at the right is a typical Connections page for a Scout. Some leaders have multiple roles like Gary Tautkus who is an Assistant Scoutmaster and a registered Merit Badge Counselor approved for First Aid and Chess MB. Merit badges can only be approved by counselors registered to the specific badge. Pretty cool huh ?

Upload Photos and Leave Notes

All connections that have Edit Advancement permissions are able to leave notes and upload photos. Shown on the right are notes for the Cycling merit badge. This sample discussion involves a Scoutmaster, a Scout, his mother and his Assistant Scoutmaster.

The Scoutmaster took a quick photo of the signed blue card and attached it to his post so if it ever got lost they would have a backup record. Bradley the Scout uploads a log of his first Cycling ride and decides to share 4 photos that he took with his GoPro camera.

Gary the merit badge counselor leaves a note that he approved requirements 1-7 and logged his first ride.

And finally Bradley's mother Linda leaves a quick note as well. All these notes are private and only seen by those who have permission.

These are just a few of the features you will be able to do with our connected Family Plan.

Quick Entry Bar

Today we are making it easier to check off requirements by introducing our Quick Entry bar.

This new feature allows you to enter a date into a fixed toolbar that appears at the bottom of a requirements page. After the date is set just tap on each requirement to quickly set the date completed.

We have launched this feature on the merit badge pages first then will roll the feature out to the rest of the site.

To activate the Quick Entry bar just login and go to a Scout's Advancement page. Choose a merit badge to edit. Tap on the screen to reveal the Quick Entry bar. Tap the screen again to hide it.

Is the only way to add pictures is to become a member? The den is not interested as of yet and we have no family members to share with. If we do pay the $10 and add the pictures, how do we know how pricing will become in say, five years?

Hi Lisa. Welcome to Scoutbook! We do require a subscription in order to post photos and videos. Scoutbook recommends keeping a copy of your photos so if you do not want to keep your subscription you won't lose your photos. While you maintain your subscription the photos will always be available.

We don't anticipate pricing to go up in the next 5 years however we cannot guarantee they won't change in the future.

How do I see my son's achievements? We left a pack, they deactivated his account, I set up the family plan subscription, but nothing shows.
