There have been a lot of exciting changes to the Scoutbook platform and we are building toward the future. And as you’ve noticed, the improvements from the launch of Scoutbook 2019 brought some unexpected issues. We are working diligently to resolve these as quickly as possible. Many updates have already been made this year and more will follow. We regret if changes caused you any additional work. Your volunteer time is valuable, and we appreciate your support of your Scouting units.
This Blog offers some tips regarding questions we’ve received and bugs that are being fixed. This includes comments on Single Sign On (SSO) and the Membership Upload completed at year-end.
Fixed was this SSO issue: Parents and youth below 13 years old will no longer be required to setup SSO. The banner message no longer shows at log in that SSO is needed.
Membership upload has remaining issues that are being worked on. This includes if the unit charter renewal was processed and the roster isn’t fully updated. Also if admin connections remain after a Scout is no longer in the unit. And the issue of Scouts with membership ended showing again on the roster. This has been identified as a high priority to resolve.
Some advancement is not displayed in Scoutbook after the initial data load. A fix is in progress as omitted advancement has been compiled and the import of these advancements will occur.
We’ve also been asked what a unit should do if they have multiple membership IDs in the unit. Assistance is available, and you may contact Member Care at Scoutbook.support@scouting.org to request membership ID merge. Please give names, member IDs, council and unit numbers.
Since January 1 you’ll see more announcements about brief maintenance interruptions. That is when we are working to fix issues. Multiple releases are being done each week. Please bear with this as we are moving as rapidly as possible to release updates.
To keep up with all the changes, watch the Change Log forum https://www.scoutbook.com/mobile/forums/change-log/
If you have questions or issues, please post them on the forums: https://www.scoutbook.com/mobile/forums/
If this is a question about a local Klondike Derby? If so, contact your council for information.
Roster import is not coming back. When changes are made in Akela (the BSA's person database) they are pushed to Scoutbook the following night. There is no need to import the roster because it is done automatically.
Please post your questions / issues on the forums, we will be able to support you better there.
